Chateau Des Arroucats Table White

October 3, 2014

Sauternes lover? This dessert wine has the elegance and succulence of a Sauternes with a more accessible price tag for everyday drinking. What more could you ask for?

Type: Dessert Wine

Vintage: 2012
Origin: Sainte Croix Du Mont, Bordeaux, France
Producer: Chateau Des Arroucats
Varietal: Sauvignon Blanc and Semillon
Price: $17.95
My Score: 88/100

The palate is delicately sweet with honeyed characteristics, but also harmonious with its present acidity.

On the nose, I get honey, citrus and candied ginger. The honey and candied ginger follow through to the palate along with added notes of the caramelized sugar and a long, rich finish.

Pairing: Crème brulee or  Gorgonzola cheese.
